We welcome Alex Juan as a new Ph.D. student in the Lab, co-advised with Stephanie Carlson. Alex has had a lifelong passion for fish and fishing, and is fascinated by the relationships between fish, their environment, and each other

He will focus on the invasive Sacramento Pikeminnow population in the Eel River. Prior to coming to Berkeley, he earned Bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Computer Science from Saint Louis University, and a Master’s degree in fisheries from Cal Poly Humboldt; and worked as a fisheries technician for the Wiyot Tribe Natural Resources Department.
